April Training Part 2

The first mountain biking session of the season is always a little nerve-racking. You start to second guess your abilities from last season, and wonder if your body remembers everything it’s supposed to do on the course. Well, of course, your body remembers the painful moments like when you shifted your weight too much to the right and slammed your hand on the tree. Or, as you were approaching the steep decline that leads to the narrow bridge, you started to imagine your tire slipping off the bridge and scrapping your shin…consequently, while going over the bride, your tire slipped and the pain followed. Your body definitely remembers those moments. You HOPE to remember the height required to jump that log or the speed needed to climb a slope.

Luckily, all the hard work we put in last season paid off. Our first lap was slow, steady and successful. Our second lap was faster and more daring. Our third was devoted to picture taking, for the sake of all our devoted followers, and team building :).

Whewww! Why were we so nervous? We’re GGB’s and this is what we were born to do! The bikes are officially muddy, the confidence levels are high and we have amazing supporters! Really, what more could we ask for? Just check out the smile:

K – 2010 – CONFESSION! : I just had a bag of M&M's out of the vending!! It’s my only cheat this Lenten season! but they were so satisfying and it was a serious situation. I'm not making excuses but time change, Monday, race week, great 7 miles this weekend! I enjoyed every single one of those candies chocolate delights!!
